Our approach

What is Montessori?

The Montessori Method was developed in the early 20th century by Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian physician and educator. It nurtures a child's natural curiosity, independence and love of learning in an environment designed around how children grow.

Freedom within limits

A carefully prepared environment

Montessori balances freedom with clear, kind limits. Beautiful, hands-on materials sit on low shelves where children can choose them, work with them and put them back — building intellectual, physical and social skills, along with grace and courtesy.

For more than a century Montessori has supported children and families around the world, and its principles continue to match the latest research in education and human development.
